The menu for this camp includes sweet and savory baked treats. There will be some challenging skills presented to our young bakers, like making ballpark pretzels, pie, and French Macarons! You do not want to miss this!

Mon.-Wed., June 10,11 and 12  (3-day class)                        10:00-1:00 ages 10-14

Junior Master Chef Academy If you missed it last summer, this is the class you’ll want to join this year.  Junior Master Chef Academy is for kids that have some basic kitchen knowledge and feel comfortable in a kitchen setting. We’ll cover some basic measuring, kitchen safety and knife skills. Then we’ll challenge the young chefs with new flavors, featuring fresh herbs and spices, ethnic favorites, and advanced baking skills.

1)      We kick off the week’s classes with a bang by learning how to start off our mornings well with a traditional Eggs Benedict breakfast. We’ll make our very own English muffins, along with classic hollandaise and poached eggs. A carrot-orange smoothie will round out Day One.

2)      Day Two we head to the Middle East in food truck style to learn about herbs and spices. We’ll get rolling with a lunch of chicken shawarmas wrapped in homemade pitas and topped with chimichurri and an herbaceous yogurt sauce. Muddled herbs will even find their way into our individual lemonades!

3)      Our global menu brings us right back home on Day Three with a visit to the next-door Farmer’s Market. We will learn the joys of buying produce in season for a kids’-choice stir fry dinner. Sipping on iced tea with house made simple syrup will keep us hydrated then as we work on a sweet finish to the week—homemade yogurt and granola parfaits with fresh fruit and local honey!

This culinary experience is $100.00 for all three days of class.

Important:  We require a waiver to be signed on behalf of each student by a parent or legal guardian prior to your child’s admittance to this class.  This waiver requests a phone number where you can be reached during the class if necessary, and names of any additional people who are authorized to pick up the child after class.   If we don’t receive a signed waiver, your child will not be allowed to attend class.  We are sorry but we cannot make any exceptions to this rule.  If someone other than the parent drops off your child, they will need evidence that they are the legal guardian for your child in order to sign a waiver at that time.  For safety reasons, we also recommend that students under 18 wear close-toed shoes, long pants and have long hair pulled back.
